Yarn Food Wool Blocking Spray is a fine-mist treatment for wool, merino, cashmere, alpaca, mohair, angora and other animal fibres. Use it to refresh favourite woollens between washes or to reshape handmade pieces between full wet blocks.

The light mist helps fibres relax and settle, while added lanolin helps condition animal fibres and maintain their naturally soft, supple feel.

The Duo Bundle includes two bottles, making it ideal if you regularly refresh wool and cashmere between washes, have plenty of handmade pieces to care for, or simply want to keep a spare bottle to hand.

With a soft lavender fragrance for freshening woollens without the need for a full wash.

1. WHY YARN FOOD?

REFRESH BETWEEN WASHES
Not every wool or cashmere garment needs washing after every wear. A light mist can help freshen and revive fibres between washes, reducing unnecessary washing and handling.

Applies a light, even layer of moisture without saturating the fabric, giving you more control over how much product you use.

A soft lavender fragrance that leaves woollens feeling fresh between washes without being overpowering.
3. HOW TO USE

TO REFRESH BETWEEN WASHES

  • Lay the garment flat or hang it where appropriate.
  • Hold the bottle around 20 cm from the fabric and mist lightly and evenly.
  • Gently reshape the garment with your hands if needed.
  • Allow to air dry completely before wearing or storing.
  • For delicate fibres, test first on an inconspicuous area.

FOR BLOCKING

  • Pin the finished piece to the desired measurements and shape.
  • Mist generously and evenly from approximately 20 cm away.
  • Gently shape the fabric, paying particular attention to edges, stitch definition and areas that need adjustment.
  • Leave until completely dry.

    FAQs

    Why does the water look darker after soaking my knit socks?

    Please always test your yarns for colourfastness before washing. The natural cleaning agents in the formula will gently remove grime and dirt from your garment, which will be visible in the basin when you remove your item from the water. For very soiled socks, you can repeat the soaking process twice, or until satisfied with the outcome.

    CAN I SOAK MY SOCKS FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES?

    In most cases it is safe to soak your socks for longer than 20 minutes, however, we always recommend checking the care information of the yarn you’ve used and special requirements.

    Can I use YarnFood in the washing machine?

    Yes, you can use Yarn Food in the washing machine on a wool or delicate cycle. Add 15 ml, or 9 pumps, either directly into the machine or into the detergent drawer. Your garments will still be cleaned and fed, but some of the nourishment may be washed out in the rinsing process, which is why
    the hand-wash and soak option is the preferred method for Yarn Food.
